Medical Records Clerk/Complex Authorization Specialist

Job Description:

• Candidates will be reviewing and entering complex authorizations and referrals from the VA and providers
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses, and or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by patient
• They will ensure accurate data entry and completion of authorization data from customer information, medical records, and referral/authorization forms
• Obtain consult reports within required turnaround times
• Work under direction of Supervisor to request appropriate records and process initial review of those records
• Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm
• Pay Range $13.25- $15.50/hr

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or G.E.D
• Strong administrative and data entry skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and data entry skills
• Medical Billing & Coding Certification would be ideal
  • ICD-9 or ICD-10
• Previous experience with Accounts Receivable or Payable is a plus
