Providence is calling a Quality Assurance Coordinator to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

Be primarily focused on delivering service commitments for the Oregon Regional Laboratory Services.

Perform in a highly cost effective manner while maintaining appropriate licensure and conditions as required by CLIA, OSHA, CAP, JC, the OIG, the Laboratory Quality Plan and the System Laboratory Compliance Program.

Support the primary goals of the Regional Laboratories and its management to improve service to the emergent and critically ill patients and, where appropriate, to meet production goals and timelines necessary to effectively compete in the outreach market.

Participate in projects to improve safety, compliance, and quality associated with the Regional Laboratories and facility quality departments.

Demonstrate knowledge of compliance related activies associated with laboratory billing, including Medicare/Medicaid requirements.

Also support compliance with HIPPA, HITECH and the Affordable Care Act as it impacts the clinical laboratory.

Continuously strive to streamline operations, improve processes, and decrease costs while still maintaining the service levels and quality necessary to service all caregivers and their patient populations served by the department.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in medical technology, quality, project management, or related science

Documented training/coursework/experience in Quality Management Systems

6 years progressive healthcare experience

Demonstrated ability to lead a team project to successful completion as evidenced by measurable and sustained process improvement and timely completion

Demonstrated ability to lead productive meetings, including preparing for and presenting information effectively

Familiarity with workflow and operational processes between technical and non-technical laboratory functions

Documented experience in maintaining compliance with CLIA and accreditation with CAP or TJC

Ability to investigate operational and financial variances and identify root causes, develop and implement corrective and preventive actions

Demonstrated ability to work with disparate groups across multiple shifts Preferred qualifications for this position include :

Experience in laboratory operations and quality systems

Previous supervisory experience

Documented leadership coursework and project management experience

Experience in achieving ISO 9001 Laboratory certification; Six Sigma, LEAN, and/or other process improvement training

Experience as laboratory inspector (JCAHO, AABB, CLIA, and/or CAP) About Providence in Oregon
