About this job
The qualified candidate will join the Analytical Research and Development Microbiology organization, a QC (GMP) laboratory that supports biotherapeutic clinical manufacturing. Candidate will report directly to Microbiology Group Leader (Senior Principal Scientist, Ph.D.).
We are recruiting an expert in molecular biology with experience in virology, next generation sequencing and bioinformatics to focus on developing rapid virus testing technologies. The project goals will include:
(1) Understanding the current industry virus assay requirements and capabilities
(2) Collaboration with established technology development partners.
(3) Development of a GMP method for the detection of adventitious viruses in biotherapeutics.
(4) Method qualification design and execution.
(5) Successful implementation of the technology and training staff
Responsibilities:
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) on a daily basis.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Accountable for the accuracy, organization and interpretation of testing results.
- Interprets results and records observations. Identify and solve technical problems.
- Preparation or revision of procedures, documents, and presentation
Qualifications:
- Ph.D in virology, molecular and cellular biology, or a similar field. (candidates with a Master's degree will be considered)
- Next Generation Sequencing (Massively Parallel Sequencing)
- Bioinformatics
- Experience with classic virology assays, requires experience in qPCR, next generation sequencing sample preparation (including WGS, RNA-seq, and targeted sequencing), and bioinformatics analysis of NGS data.
