SUMMARY: Responsible for the highly skilled, discipline specific, technical operations within an assigned Entertainment venue or event to ensure show quality, guest training / direction and safety, and stage presentation to provide a positive guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and enforcing all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe operation of all technical equipment. 
  • Safe watch guests by ensuring that proper training and direction is provided, and equipment is operating properly/safely.
  • Provide proper stage presence during show operations.
  • Assists Technician I with daily maintenance in order to ensure all Technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
  • Assists the Technician I in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment Management.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to both upper management as well as employees of the project.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:  Moderately routine; general policies applied. Some decision-making.

RELATIONSHIPS OUTSIDE WORK UNIT:  Exchange of information which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:     

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. 
  • REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Emergency Repair, Parts Assembly, and Forklift Operations experience preferred. 


Consistent attendance is a job requirement.



 

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • One to three years experience working as a rigger in a stunt performing environment.  Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical stunt capacity assisting guests and/or performers during a live show preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:  Standard Company and Departmental Safety Training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand; walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tool or controls; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left; and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); and work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) exposed to work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions; extreme heat (non-weather); and work with explosives. 
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) be exposed to loud noises (noise when raised conversation is needed).
  • Will require a valid Florida state driver’s license.
