The UHC Polaris Organizational Readiness team is seeking an Associate Director in the Business Process Engineering team.  You love to challenge the status quo. The successful candidate must have a collaborative, consultative, customer-focused approach.  The candidate must be a strong listener and communicator (written/verbal) to successfully interface with a variety of stakeholders. The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker who has broad experience working in complex, matrixed organizations with multiple technology environments.  The role requires a self-directed, independent thinker who is able to able to navigate fast-paced, changing environments and influence, drive change and advocate for both Value Stream and Domain area interests to achieve optimal business outcomes.
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Lead special projects required for the Polaris program that are related to Business Process Engineering and Organizational Readiness

Help to create and maintain a repository of process models for assigned business value streams, when needed

 These process models will serve as the framework for:


Technology requirements

Organizational structure and staffing

SOP/Training documentation

Business controls

Key performance metrics

Reporting needs

Lead analysis of existing business processes for innovation opportunities using Business Process Management, Lean and Six Sigma techniques

Partner with Polaris Business Architect team to ensure future state business process models are aligned to business capabilities and overall strategic goals

Conduct workshops, process/requirements walkthroughs, stakeholder alignment sessions and demonstrations to large groups of audiences

Serve in a trusted advisor role to business process owners

Mentor and train business stakeholders in key Business Process Management concepts

Collaborate / negotiate with business / IT partners around business process needs and solutions.  Facilitate agreement and approval from program stakeholders on program prioritization, scope, schedule, and issues

Communicate and drive change adoption

Provide Executive-level status updates

Provide coaching / oversight to project managers and business teams

Mentor Value Stream team members toward Polaris future state

Work in a team environment; be customer-focused and collaborative

Build consensus and partnership

Manage both up and down the organization and apply a balanced business/technology approach to challenges and solutions

Must be willing to work in Hartford, CT or Minneapolis, MN. Basking Ridge, NJ, Chicago, IL, or Washington DC can be considered 
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BA/ BS Degree (or higher) In Business, Healthcare or related field
4+ years of relevant experience in process modeling, analysis and rules gathering
2+ years of project management experience
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and LEAN experience
Experience working with diverse teams of business users in customer organizations on definition and implementation of business process changes
Experience in working with matrix organizations
Knowledge and experience with process modeling methodologies and tools (BPMN, Visio, ARIS or similar)
Ability to learn complex material quickly, allocate time efficiently; handle multiple projects and deliverables concurrently managing competing priorities.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Change and conflict management skills, ability to influence and negotiate with others to meet project deadlines
Intermediate skillset with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:


Healthcare industry experience

Awareness of or experience with various industry development methodologies such as: SDLC, RUP, Agile, SCRUM

Ability to work with enthusiasm in a challenging fast paced environment
