Position Summary:

Implement company’s global sourcing strategy for all direct import manufacturing of corporate brand general merchandise to help drive strong sales and margin performance. Build dynamic factory matrix to achieve speed to market. Demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety to self and others.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work as a team with domestic and international colleagues effectively in implementing Kroger’s sourcing strategies of direct sourcing in factories to produce corporate brand general merchandise
• Work with Sr. Manager to develop and execute global sourcing strategies
• Cultivate sourcing relationships with overseas manufacturing partners
• Execute vendor production protocols and vendor management processes
• Analyze request for information (RFI) for supplier qualification
• Conduct cost negotiations with major manufacturing partners
• Develop and maintain a good relationship with all major international general merchandise corporate brand vendors
• Work internally with partners of international logistics and regulatory compliance to drive social compliance in making sure vendors comply with all Kroger social sustainability policies
• Model and lead Kroger to achieve the highest standards of international business ethics
• Develop factory matrix to achieve the best value for general merchandise corporate branded cost of goods
• Conduct international travel to qualify factory capabilities

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years proven experience in leadership positions within global sourcing or related function
• Experience providing leadership in an environment of change with a focus on innovation, collaboration, manufacturing partner development
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to analyze and explain pricing models and contract terms
• Strong understanding of legal concepts as related to contract negotiations
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of leadership
• Ability to travel independently domestically (up to 10%) and internationally (up to 15 %)
