Position Overview
This position supports multiple departments including: Production, Procurement, Product Support, Scheduling, Quality, and External Customers. The responsible individual participates in engineering support activities in all of these areas, provides technical expertise, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance to company, customer and government standards
Primary Responsibilities
Supports smooth transition of new products from Engineering into the manufacturing portion of the business. This includes involvement in the proposal and design phases of new product development, pilot builds, work instructions, engineering documentation review, training, cost analysis, design for manufacture suggestions, etc. Establishes/reviews manufacturing processes and identifies improvement opportunities that support efficient product flow and/or cost reduction and lead/assists in solution implementations. Supports manufacturing organization to maintain product flow. Clarifies and corrects work instructions as necessary. Investigates and resolves technical production problems. Ensure that production personnel have the necessary documents and tools required to build quality products. Investigates inefficiencies and areas for cost reduction in manufacturing. Explores new processes and equipment to realize cost savings on new and existing product lines. Provides recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities. Initiates engineering change notices .
Qualifications No previous experience required. Must be enrolled in college classes.
Education Pursuing a degree in Mechanical , Electrical Eng or related degree, with at least a 3.0 GPA. Microsoft office
