About this job

Under close supervision, performs field service activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing x-ray and CT based security systems at customer sites. Typically handles basic, less complex products and/or problems, referring more complex problems to higher-level technicians. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

Provides customer service and technical support for installed systems found at security screening sections of the airports, court houses, cruise ships and various other sites.

* The technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug complex issues with

any electronics, electromechanical, x-ray, and computer systems.

Performs and documents basic, preventative and remedial maintenance. Replaces defective units/components as appropriate.

Assists in the conduct of equipment/system acceptance testing following established procedures.

Performs site acceptance tests with aid of more senior-level technicians.

* Must be shift flexible and okay with travel.

* Work well with team members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

AA Degree or Graduate of technical school / or military training in electronics engineering technology.

Typically requires one (1) to two (2) years experience in field service environments with a strong desire to learn x-ray and/or CT technologies. Must have knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies as well as wiring diagrams and schematics.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Customer interface and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: MS-DOS, Win 8 and MS Office. Proficiency in Linux preferred. Willingness to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays. Must be team player with ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. Must be available to travel on short notice, non-standard hours, travel on weekends, and assist other field sites as required. Will be exposed to dirt, dust, airplane fumes and non-toxic cleaning solutions. Will be exposed to a loud environment. You must be able to stand, climb, bend, kneel, walk, pull/push, reach, crouch, and crawl for periods at a time.

*Must be capable of lift or carry 75 pounds .

* Must be able to push/pull 200lbs
