Principal International Project Engineer
3M Company has an opportunity for a Principal International Project Engineer at our facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. The primary duty of the Principal International Project Engineer is to lead multiple complex international capital investment engineering projects in excess of $20 million. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation. Experience must include four (4) years of experience, which may be concurrent, in all of the following: (1) utilizing financial and economic knowledge to manage project scope, quality, schedules, budgets and contingency plans; (2) directing multi-disciplinary teams in an international environment to define project scope, develop equipment designs, and deliver the project; (3) applying economic and broad range of engineering knowledge and experience to manage project finance, including estimating expenditures, identifying financial alternatives, contributing to the creation of project scope and technical solutions, purchasing materials or services, monitoring and tracking costs, and payments; and (4) utilizing international experience and knowledge of local rules, codes and procedures to ensure buildings, equipment and installations comply with all local safety and environmental regulations. Must also have demonstrated management experience on a large construction site. This position requires travel (international) 10-25% of the time. All experience may have been gained concurrently.
