Daily communication with both internal teams (Merchandising, Tech Design, Operations, Quality, Design, etc.) and external partners (agents & factories) and escalate to management as needed; to resolve issues quickly; summarize and report findings to management Clarify and reinforce sampling needs, Quality standards, and development policies/procedures for the agents, vendors and new employees Assist in the development and approval of new trims, art techniques, and new fabrications for a product category Document cost options in partnership with manager at Carters Hong Kong team and external partners Maintain accurate and timely records within designated enterprise technology systems; utilize data and raise style development status and production concerns to appropriate partners Communicate long lead time sample yardage needs from Design to overseas teams for successful sample delivery Support Sales, Merchandising and Design by tracking and reporting Market & Sales Sample status Attend sample review sessions to note design changes, help identify possible development or product quality concerns, and clearly communicate the revisions to management and partners through summaries and/or enterprise technology (e.g., Product Lifecycle Management system) Create and maintain Production Bill of Materials (BOMs) to meet the desired Design and Merchandising product aesthetics based on sample reviews and notes Order, track and review all product development inbound submits and samples (art punches, strike offs , fits, size sets, PP samples, etc.) within the needed timeframe to keep development and production on schedule; alert management of potential delays Communicate and monitor any special testing and sampling needs for specific customers (Costco, Sam's, Wal-Mart, etc.) Adhere to the Product Development and Time & Action (T&A) calendars to monitor seasonal progress and ensure that deadlines, specific to approvals and fabric commitments, are met and alert management of potential delays Assist with the documentation, validation and reporting of liabilities, excess fabric disposal and sampling charges Professional conduct and communication with matrix-based organizations and global employees Assist with special projects such as performing competitor/internal product aesthetics and cost analysis Identify process improvements, document procedures and drive efficiencies and/or automation Develop the expertise to anticipate potential customer needs/concerns (consumer, sales, merchandising, and design)

Experience and Skills

Basic understanding of apparel design, fabric qualities, printing techniques, and merchandising and product development activities Advanced grammar and communication skills; capable of interpreting and conveying international business concepts Intermediate level skillset using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong analytical and project management skills; ability to anticipate and proactively arrive at viable solutions 6 months to 3 years industry knowledge in either Textile and/or Apparel Manufacturing, Merchandising or Product Development Bachelors Degree or a minimum of 4 years of additional industry experience directly related to apparel Sourcing, Merchandising or Product Development Ability to lift small parcels weighing up to 30 lbs.
