About this job
This part-time position is responsible for providing front line guest services, following proper uniform standards, maintaining cleanliness of your work environment, gaining knowledge of specific job duties, learning multiple venues, and working in conjunction with multiple departments including the Box Office, Security, and Event Services Teams.
Job Functions:
Ushers/ Ticket Takers may be required to do one or all of the following tasks.
- Must be familiar with an assigned section of a facility in order to assist guests in locating specific seats
- Approach guests in order to determine the section, row and numbers of seats for which the guests have purchased tickets
- Direct guests to proper seat locations
- Control movement of guests at events so as not to interfere with the viewing of the event by other guests
- Provide or seek assistance for guests needs
- Assist with crowd control during emergency situations
- Monitor guests behavior for compliance with event and facility policies
- Pick up litter from the seating areas after all events and transport the trash to the dumpster
- Become familiar with the ticketing process to include the ability to recognize counterfeit tickets, use ticket scanning equipment, and assist with counting tickets at the end of an event
- Assist in the operation of the elevators
- Assist in securing multiple locations around the concourse
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
Additional Qualifications:
- Must have reliable, steady transportation to and from work
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand English
- Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
- Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
- Must be innovative and be self-motivated to complete tasks
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to climb up and down stairs throughout the duration of your shift
- Must be able to safely lift and carry a container of trash
- Must be able to work in combination of indoor and outdoor weather conditions
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, sitting, and walking up to 100% of the shift
- Must be able to focus on the details while working in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to work in loud environments
