2nd Shift Machine Operator

Do you have a Fabrication background with the ability to learn quickly on the job? Do you have good math and ruler and feel comfortable operating a press brake or sheer?  Express Employment Professionals is working with a Shelbyville company to hire their next Machine Operator.  This is a full-time position on 2nd shift with a pay rate of $13.50/hour plus overtime and benefits available. 

The Machine Operator is a fast-pace, physical position handling a variety of metal products and operating a variety of manual and automated machinery.  The Machine Operator will train alongside an experienced operator on all machinery, so prior experience working in metal fabrication is ideal, but not required.

The Machine Operator will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout shift, work up to a 12-hour shift, and read a tape measure down to the 16th of an inch.  Additional skills and experience include, but are not limited to, the ability to read drawings/blueprints, convert decimals to fractions and calculate angles.  Experience with forklift, overhead crane, and computerized controls are a bonus but not required.

The typical shift for this position is Mon-thurs, 5:00pm – 3:30a with peak season being Mon-Friday, 5:00p-5:00am – overtime will be required during peak season through summer and into fall.
