Position Summary:

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Direct andsupervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Floral operations. Essential Job Functions:

  • Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Prepare corsages, flower arrangements, balloons to customer's requests, and set-up displays and fixtures.
  • Inspect and maintain plants by watering, trimming, cleaning and other care as required.
  • Identify all varieties of foliage, blooms and fresh cut flowers.
  • Order, label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
  • Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size/amount (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrink.
  • Display a positive attitude.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
  • Use all equipment in department such as refrigerators, stem cutter, baler, u-boats, and compactor according to company guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Current food handlers permit once employed
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Must be at least18 years of age

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Management experience preferred
