Job Duties
General Accounting: Conduct reconciliations and audit all bank accounts, review Income Statement, Balance Sheet, check general ledger for any posting errors, close accounting units at the end of each month. Annually review, compile and adjust all year end reports to prepare for accounting firm.

Payroll: Review employee's schedules and initiate weekly payroll runs. Prepare and remit: Federal & State payroll taxes, FUTA & SUTA + other employee withholdings. Prepare and file all quarterly payroll tax returns. Prepare and issue W-2 to employees, file W-3 and any other necessary Federal or State forms including Health Care Declaration required by the State of Vermont.

Benefits Administration: Requires detailed record keeping for paid time used, vacation, sick and personal days off. 401K administration with oversight by a Third Party Administrator, maintain all insurance policy types in effect currently for company including Workers Compensation, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance. Initiate claims and correspond with Insurance agent/broker as necessary.

Accounts Receivable: Process all cash receipts on a timely basis, run applications monthly to generate recurring invoices, collect past due accounts, maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements.

Accounts Payable: Review, enter and manage all payables as necessary, coordinate with company management to make weekly payments, make all required quarterly Federal and Vermont State estimated corporate income tax payments.

Requirements:

Public Accounting experience is required
3+ years of Full-Charge Bookkeeper experience
3+ years of QuickBooks experience
3+ years of Excel experience
Intuit and Paychex experience is a huge plus
High level of organization and attention to detail
understanding of fund accounting principles
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
