# Description JOB SUMMARY Accountable for the overall operational scope on a day-to-day basis over multiple shifts to ensure that the quality, productivity, safety, housekeeping, and financial standards are met. Possess analytical skills to provide optimal solutions and best practices. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Communicate operational metrics and their importance to achieving the organization's goals, as well as keeping the team informed on overall business conditions. * Develop, implement, maintain, and improve the operational functions of the DC and fleet while achieving effective and efficient service to the stores with a focus on quality, productivity, safety, and loss prevention. * Manage the operating budget to meet the planned budget for the fiscal year. This includes cost analysis / P&L accountability and understanding. Develop and train direct reports, including succession planning. Engaged and driving associate morale within the DC's and the logistics network. Compliance with policies, practices and procedures. * Develop workforce planning, recruitment, staffing of exempt/nonexempt associates as well as succession planning. * Interface with Management Support team of the DC and Global Store Support Center to ensure goal achievement in all areas of the operation. * Contribute to and support all company sponsored programs and initiatives. Provide positive leadership through both normal and adverse situations. Seek out opportunities to maintain and enhance morale. * Ensure high levels of satisfaction with the Store organizations. This entails staff meeting attendance. In addition, he/she will work with counterparts on special projects or benchmarking. # Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access). * Experience with Labor production systems. * Solid analytical abilities. * Must be a self-starter and be able to successfully execute initiatives with some guidance and accomplish stated goals. * Must have a minimum of five-seven years of experience managing a team in a high volume automated distribution environment. Retail distribution experience is a plus. * Broad working knowledge of DC processes and operations. Thorough knowledge of RF Scanner and WMS systems functionality. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Must have experience in training, developing and providing direction to staff. * Must be able to work effectively as part of a leadership team. * Demonstrated leadership, decision making, and problem solving skills * Ability to build relationships at various levels and influence decisions. * Experience with conveyors, sortation systems, light directed technology, and carousels is preferred. * Experience with heavy piece pick volume preferred. **Job Function:** DC Management **Primary Location:** USA-NJ-Flanders **Schedule:** Full-time **Organization:** Distribution Center **Job Type:** Standard **Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree **Travel:** No **Brand:** Toys 'R' US **Req ID:** 81314
