Jobs in this category are responsible for selling and servicing customers within one or more departments. Provides excellent customer service & assistance while ensuring basic merchandise replenishment needs are meet in order to delivery a positive customer shopping experience.

* Performs Merchandise & Pricing Associate job duties * Supports the Assistant Store Manager in developing a high performance team by assisting in scheduling and supervision of Merchandise & Pricing Associates, as well as training and coaching on product knowledge, merchandise presentation skills, inventory and price integrity skills, and customer service tactics to enhance sales * Understands website navigation and proactively leverages technology in order to facilitate the customer experience * Participates in interviews with job applicants and provides input to the Assistant Store Manager during the selection process * Leads by example to provide superior customer service (i.e., locate merchandise, assist customers, answer phones, partner with store cashier when assistance is required to ring register) * Acts as a role model and personally contributes to attainment of department goals * Ensures that the department is easy to shop, clean and organized for customers * Facilitates efficient replenishment flow and representation of merchandise, including ensuring clearance product flow, and, if in Footwear, weekly matching of mismatches and weekly completion of the display sample check sheet * Ensures optimization of credit, gift card, Shop Your Way Rewards and multi-channel opportunities (and, where applicable: Protection Agreements, Merchandise Replacement Agreements, and other miscellaneous income opportunities) * Executes signing responsibilities under the direction of the Assistant Store Manager, including setup of storewide and event signing when the assigned team is designated to perform this activity; ensures flawless execution of promotional ad setup and take down * Ensures accurate and efficient processing of price changes, count updates and inventory adjustments * Accompanies the Assistant Store Manager during the weekly business review to assist in identifying areas of opportunity and developing action plans for improving the department's performance * Assists the Assistant Store Manager with communications to associates regarding upcoming events, work process changes and Company/business initiatives * Assists in resolving customer issues and complaints; escalates issues to Assistant Store Manager as necessary * Fosters a team environment * Hardlines: Serves as Customer Experience Manager and/or Manager on Duty as assigned * Performs limited store opening and closing activities when necessary * Performs other duties and projects as assigned * Ability to assist in leading and developing a team of associates * Strong organizational and project management skills * Ability to form strong partnerships and communicate well with store team members * Ability to identify issues and recommend business solutions to the Assistant Store Manager * Ability to use email and attachments, Internet/Intranet, and computer systems to access, input, modify or print information or to execute moderately complex programs or analyses * Must be 18 years of age or older
