About this job

This new role will be primarily focused on cross-Practice work - that is to say that the primary focus will be projects inherent to both Practices. This unique position will also have the ability to work on international projects through the Aerospace and Defense Practice, and provide the design assistance needed to improve our national roadway system through the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice. Hands-on, organized, forward-thinking, and energetic individuals will find success in this opportunity. Collaboration and critical-thinking to solve unique and complex problems will occur daily.

You will begin immediately working on large, multi-year Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Designs, Roadway Lighting designs, toll facility designs, as well as multiple AutoCAD and Revit building design projects for local and international military facilities.

Our roadway projects will challenge you to think outside of the box to coordinate with multiple utility providers, roadway and bridge engineers, water resource engineers, as well as coordinating both the lighting designs and the ITS designs to provide support for the public right-of-ways. Overpass, ramp, and mainline lighting projects allow for a detailed analysis and 3D modeling to reduce potential conflicts. Roadway projects will also encompass the building design services needed to support tolling movements. These small and very complex facilities require coordination with the local client's communications requirements that evolve quickly over time. To support all types of Transportation projects, the designs also must include a power system designed for the current demand, while considering future enhancements.

To support these project types, you will be providing innovative lighting designs, establishing power distribution systems, coordinating telecommunications system functions, designing security and intercom systems for the facility/campus, as well as collaborating with the other design team members to provide support for the fire alarm, life safety, mechanical, plumbing, and interior designs.
