This technical position is an individual contributor reporting to the Chief Cyber Defense Architect, a function of the Cyber Security Architecture team. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating, administering and supporting activities related to network infrastructure security architecture and design, risk reduction and development and related projects
Anticipates Cyber Defense Organization security needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
Serves as a key security architecture resource on complex and/or critical security issues
Solves complex problems and develops innovative security architecture solutions
Performs complex conceptual analyses and provides expert level security remediation recommendations
Designs secure solutions in accordance with UHG Standards and Policies through Security Architecture principles
Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for security improvement
Writes Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, and makes Solution drawings
Authorizes deviations from Standards
Designs solutions that reduce risk and improves Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity
Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issue
Collaborate with the business to understand/refine/influence business requirements in an effort to define and document Security Architecture Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, and Drawings
Facilitate/lead/participate in identification of security solution options and features (e.g., Solutioning sessions) based on defined Security Requirements
Monitor and report frequently to the Chief Cyber Defense Architect key points, summarizations, changes to designs or architecture, and progress
Develop/finalize/approve security architecture solution summary documentation (e.g., Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, Drawings, etc.)
Ensure alignment of conceptual designs with enterprise, segment and functional roadmaps (e.g., system vision, business strategy)
Review conceptual designs with the Chief Cyber Defense Architect for approval to ensure scalability/applicability/quality/comprehensiveness
Provide oversight of conceptual designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture governance (e.g., principles, policies, standards, future-state reference architectures)
Maintain awareness of current security technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each as it pertains to security architecture and design.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of overall experience in IT Solution Delivery and architecture
5+ years of experience in Security Networking from architecture, managing, planning/analysis, design, configuration, implementation, administration, and monitoring
5+ years of experience working with security infrastructure products (firewalls, SIEM's, especially APT solutions)
3+ years of experience leading complex security projects/programs for a large enterprise organization
5+ years of experience supporting network security incident response activities including detection, analysis, containment, response and prevention procedures
3+ years of experience writing Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, and drawing Network/Security schematics
Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge or hands-on experience with NAC, 802.1x, Wireless security, Advanced Persistent Threats, and Zero Day monitoring and protection
Demonstrated experiences in security architecture, engineering, deployment and operational management in a robust Fortune 500 environment
Demonstrated knowledge or hands-on experience with network technologies (802.1Q, VXLAN), Unified Communications Management, routing protocols, common application ports and protocols, firewall rule management, network security fundamentals (DDOS protection, NIDS, IPS, VPN),  common network attacks and vectors
Demonstrated experiences managing projects / programs from concept through implementation
Demonstrated experiences  in architecture and design of Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
Experience as a primary contributor in improving or creating industry security standards and participating in working groups
Experience with large healthcare services or financial services and often in-depth technical requirements of a health benefits or financial services company
Networking, virtualization, and security certifications (specifically CCNP, VCP-DCV, and SANS certs)
