Job Summary

Principal Business Analyst for the Finance Operational Accounting Solution Delivery team is responsible for providing business analysis and functional expertise in the Finance areas. This person will effectively support global strategic objectives and deliver multi-national business technology solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides expert enterprise analysis and business process transformation capabilities to identify requirements and define solutions
  • Performs business analysis tasks on the most complex projects, and/or coordinates tasks across a team of project BA’s
  • Plans analysis tasks on assigned projects and identifies the skills needed to create deliverables
  • Provides BA leadership to functional teams in the delivery of artifacts for assigned projects; validates analysis and design deliverables
  • Assists portfolio management in defining portfolio/project scope, resource demand, benefits and risks during the discovery phase; may lead discovery efforts
  • Creates strong partnerships with business stakeholders and IT partners
  • Acts as an escalation point for business partners and BA’s for complex functional design decisions
  • Works with architects and other IT groups to ensure that system architecture meets business requirements
  • Participates in the evaluation of vendors and vendor tools
  • Assists with management of request intake process and pipeline
  • Networks with the BA community to share best practice and develop BA competency
  • Leads special projects as assigned


Required Experience and Skills
  • Expertise in Oracle e-Business Suite Finance modules supporting the Operational Accounting Functions: Accounts Payables, iExpense, Purchasing
  • Experience working with Financial business processes and applications
  • Demonstrated complex functional design expertise for global scale
  • Can clearly demonstrate success leading teams of BA’s in delivering artifacts for each project phase, and link the business value created with the process improvement
  • Knowledge of IT Software development lifecycle and understanding of IT project methodology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Preferred Experience and Skills
  • CBAP/CCAB certification
  • Experience with complex Oracle Finance ERP global implementations
  • Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite Finance modules supporting Core Accounting (General Ledger, Fixed Assets)
  • Experience with Oracle SQL *Plus and PL/SQL
  • Basic knowledge of SPI, PCI, PII and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements

Minimum Work Experience:
  • 7-10+ years of relevant Business Analysis experience with multiple Enterprise projects in at least 3 full project life cycles


Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree and applicable certifications a plus
