Mgr,Commercial Engineering - Full-time

Time Warner Cable currently seeks a Manager for our Commercial Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the oversight of all Business Class Engineering process/procedures; network Operations, support structure and ongoing Feedback on new technologies for the Commercial Managed Services Products.

Essential Job Functions:

• Establishes and sets best practice as related to Network Engineering and Operations
• Lead a team of Engineers who’s responsibilities are to maintain and operate Access, Edge and Core Networks consistent with Engineering policy, standards and best practice
• Lead a team of Engineers who’s responsibilities are to configure, service and support routing and switching equipment necessary for the delivery of Metro Ethernet, Regional Ethernet and Inter-Regional Ethernet services
• Lead a team of Engineers who’s responsibilities are to troubleshoot and resolve service level and/or critical and system related issues
• Oversee the documentation of projects including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with the highest level of quality, on time and within budget
• Has ownership of the on-call/standby rotation and is accountable for the response after hours for service restoration, troubleshooting and/or repair of all necessary equipment
• Mentor and train Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems
• Ensure testing and validation of all new hardware, software and connections for proper configuration and performance meets Engineering standards and requirements
• Manage vendor and border partner relationships in order to maintain a high level of service for Time Warner Cable

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The environment is an extremely fast paced having more than an average number of projects with short deadline and high visibility. The candidate must be adaptable, quick learning and excellent problem-solving and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of network engineering and operations experience. Recommended

2+ years of management experience Recommended

Deploying, operating, trouble resolution and supporting Wi-Fi, Cisco Routers/Switches, DOCSIS, Cable Video Distribution, and Video Transport. Two of the four areas are required.

Experience and knowledge in Multicast, Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), Wi-Fi engineering and installation, Video systems using Cisco DCMs.

Familiarity with Metro Ethernet Forum standards in support of the above products and technologies.

Experienced and knowledgeable in network troubleshooting techniques is required.

Working experience with Remedy ticketing system is preferred but not required.

Industry recognized network certification is preferred by not required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and
experience.
