Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
SUMMARY
The PEG & Production Coordinator will assist in a variety of ways for both Time Warner Cable Sports Channel Nebraska and TWC Community Programming. The ideal candidate will help our talented staff with the production of live events and video projects produced including high school, Nebraska Huskers and other athletic events. Prior experience directing, shooting and editing needed for this position. In addition, the candidate will assist with the content management for public, education and leased access channels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Serve on production crew for LIVE events and video projects produced for broadcast on TWCSC, Local on Demand, or other channels
  • Uploads and schedules programs on cable access channels
  • Provide equipment training and technical assistance to community access users
  • Assist community access producers as needed
  • Weekly rotation, scheduling and ingesting of program tapes
  • Helps with scheduling community access studio and equipment
  • Assists studio and remote production staff to prepare and create original content
  • Acts professionally and positively as an individual and team member
  • Participates in training programs and initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to work both independently and with a team while covering sporting events and community access duties
  • Assists leadership and show production staff to prepare and create original programming, in-studio, episodic and digital content
  • Will work with programming staff to expand content to web, VOD and TWC channels
  • Other technical duties and assignments as assigned
  • Some traveling is required, depending on project needs
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, flexible hours and work on location
  • Overtime may be required to meet deadlines
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to help lift some heavy gear up to 70 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Word & Excel with basic math skills
  • Good organizational and project coordination skills are necessary, including the ability to compile materials
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and time constraints
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of Communications, Broadcasting, Journalism, Radio/TV/Film and/or 1-2 years equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of studio-based production and post-production including but not limited to video switcher, audio board, graphics machine, studio cameras and replay machine
  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques
  • Experience on-camera reporting, shooting and editing preferred
  • Familiarity with Apple Final Cut Pro editing software, Panasonic P2 cameras and other production equipment
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
