About this job

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Test Engineer to help design next generation attractions for the entertainment industry.

The Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for working as part of a team to develop test rigs and mock-ups in support of the project engineering team. These test rigs and mock-ups are used to prove out engineering designs and support the attraction creative intent development. Candidate must be able to take rough models and sketches and work directly with in house technicians.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conceptualizing and designing mockups and test rigs in support of the design of high-quality and high-reliability entertainment attractions.
  • Work with designers and drafters to design systems in CAD, but also capable of performing CAD work independently.
  • Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical mock-ups and test rigs by implementing customer requirements with an emphasis on safety while maintaining aggressive schedules.
  • Confirm prototype and first article product capabilities by designing and supervising acceptance tests and documenting results; update design based on testing as needed.
  • Confirm final product acceptability by designing and supervising factory acceptance testing methods and documenting results.
  • Support production throughout building, testing, installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Work experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of hands on experience in production, fabrication, installation, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of AV Lighting and sound
  • 3D modeling experience
  • Experience developing test rigs and mockups
