**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Landscape Architectural Intern for employment in the Orlando, FL office. Candidate should be efficient in production of design and construction documentation. The position provides exposure to all aspects and phases of the firm's Landscape Architectural practice, including communicating with internal and external clients. The projects primarily involve private clients and focus on resort, leisure, theme park and attractions as well as having involvement with fellow team members on more common Landscape Architectural practice involving Parks & Open Space, Recreation & Leisure and Public Realm. Candidates must have self-driven initiative and participatory team skills and shall be capable of functioning as team member in a studio environment with a broad spectrum of Project Landscape Architects and Designers. Internship experience shall include participation with studio team members on project work including public/ private projects with an emphasis on municipal, county, state community, parks and open space design, place making and planning as well as in the public realm, streetscape and resort, leisure and attraction area development themed environments including ride and attraction environments (both wet and dry theme park and water park attraction venues) as well as zoos, aquariums and other related theme park and attractions with animal habitats, exhibits and study areas for the advancement of education, preservation and sustainable practices of animal husbandry and biome creations within man-made environments.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Prepare planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, construction details, construction documents, technical specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of public and private sector projects

+ Perform field reviews and analysis of project sites and study areas and prepares written documentation of observations and conditions

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or other field required

+ Knowledge of design process, conceptual thinking and detailed design/construction document knowledge, well organized and attention to scheduling requirements, as well as a good understanding of time management and project production budgets

+ Knowledge of construction materials and techniques, including detailing is a pre-requisite of our internship program.

+ Ability to plan and organize multiple projects and work with other junior Landscape Architects, Designers and Technicians; effective time management is an inherent trait expected of all internship.

+ Have an understanding of Quality Control coordination and practice structure and be able to comply with company standards

+ The candidate will be expected to maintain regular office hours and participate in company functions where appropriate; domestic and International travel may also be a potential and the intern must be able to fulfil this task

+ A strong focus on studio relationships is an important aspect of our growing studio and the candidate should be confident, friendly and willing to work with all staff levels from Entry Level Landscape Architects through to the Director of Landscape Architecture

+ Ability to possess an entry level understanding and knowledge of design, master planning, construction materials, techniques and specifications

+ Must possess a valid driver's license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Entry level proficiency with AutoCAD, Landworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or SketchUp, or other related CADD software.

+ A university student with no more than one academic year remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students are typically seniors in university. Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern may receive an offer of full-time employment.

+ Membership in Professional Association in Canada, USA (CSLA, ASLA), United Kingdom (CMLI), or Allied International Association including IFLA, LAF or equal

+ Experience with three dimensional design

+ International experience in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia
