3M is seeking a PT Production Operator for the Personal Safety Division located in Aberdeen, SD. The Aberdeen plant serves 15 divisions within 3M such as; Automotive, Construction Home and Improvement Markets, Personal Safety, and others. This site manufactures products such as specialty tapes, furnace filters, respirators, and other products. The Aberdeen plant employs approximately 600 employees.
Job Summary:
The position of Production Operator will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
* Operate automated production converting, assembly and packaging equipment
* Monitor process, order inputs, load semi-finished materials inspect materials, perform quality inspections to release product
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Demonstrate safe work behaviors to avoid injury to self or others
* Follow operating procedures and customer specifications to produce quality products which are delivered to customers on time
* Work effectively within a production work team and collaborate with other teams
* Contribute to continuous improvement and problem solving
* Maintain neat and orderly conditions in area and help maintain and promote safe conditions
* Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
* Operate processes according to procedures
* Use hand and power tools
* Use computers as needed to run process operation
* Monitor other operations and works cooperatively with others
Basic Qualifications:
* Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience
This position will require:
* Primarily working weekends, afternoons and/or evenings depending on availability
* Prolonged standing
* Frequently bending/twisting/stooping
* Lifting up to 50 lbs. (assisted and/or unassisted)
This position may require working:
* Working on holidays as needed
Location: Aberdeen, SD
Relocation: Is not authorized
This is a part-time position and hours worked cannot exceed a total of 32 hours per week.
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M employment testing as a part of the selection process.
