About this job


• Confirms patient account set-up with the EMR with outsourcing company; respond to all emails from outsourcing company regarding patient set-up, verification of benefits, payment posting and review of billing.• Respond to patient inquiries regarding insurance coverage, benefits and the like via email.• Reviews and responds to tasks received from the outsourcing company for example, requests to review specific accounts and payments to ensure proper reimbursement.• Reviews patients' statements for accuracy prior to mailing them out; makes financial hardship arrangements if necessary.• Ensures primary explanations of benefits (EOBs) are attached to all secondary insurance claims.• Sends requested EMR documentation to insurance companies via certified mail or express mail.• Sends patient statement regarding open balances; accepts payment over the phone or via returned invoice; mails the patient a receipt once payment has been processed.• Assists Account Managers as needed in reconciling collections at the end of the month.• Behaves in a manner consistent with Professional's mission, vision and values.• Attends Company meetings as required.• Attends training classes as directed; completes assigned training courses.• Maintains working knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, Risk Management and Compliance regulations.• Practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with Company policies and all applicable laws.

Qualifications:• At least 3 -- 5 years of medical collections and/or medical billing experience is preferred.• Excellent time management and organizational skills are required; must be able to process patient statements in accurately and in a timely fashion; must ensure patient inquiries are responded to accurately and quickly.• Knowledge of medical billing procedures is required; must have Professional's insurance contracts including Medicare regulations, private healthcare insurance carriers, managed care providers and workers' compensation.• Ability to manage a large workload is required.• Must be willing to work night and/or weekends as job duties require.• Must be customer service oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills.
