In the Pharmacy Technician - Clinical Support role you will work for an industry leader and the largest home infusion organization and play an integral role in high-quality care to patients every day!

Job Description:

  • Activities include order entry of new and refill prescriptions
  • Patient delivery coordination
  • Management of lead-time and delivery optimization
  • Managing Patient Outlook Calendar
  • Lab tracking, patient customer service and communication/feedback to Sales

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking lab data and narcotic prescriptions and processing patient prescription refills under the direct approval and supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Assist the pharmacist in obtaining authorization for pharmacy services as requested; validate insurance coverage and communication with patients.
  • Gather information for the initial admission of new patients and review all new charts to ensure that all necessary nursing paperwork is included.
  • Manage the schedule for patient deliveries, manage inventory, create and maintain supply templates in the pharmacy computer data base.
  • Document all supply management activities in the patient medical record.
  • Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
  • Product preparation, compounding sterile products, and maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite to 797 requirements.
  • Documentation of IV admixture and clean room suite sterility testing.
  • Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Inventory management and storage, complete appropriate documentation, such as labels, log sheets and reports.
  • Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating activities in an administrative support function
  • National pharmacy technician certification. Eligible for state registration, certification or licensure per state regulations
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet utilization
  • Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal) a must
  • Experience with medical insurance and medical terminology.

Education:

  • Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certificate (PTCB)
