The Audit Management Department is seeking a confident and analytical professional to join its team.  Audit Management leads and coordinates regulatory audits for UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare, Medicaid and some Commercial business.  The Audit Management Department also conducts internal compliance audits for Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial business to assess compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements and to establish the organization’s level of audit readiness.   
 
The Senior Compliance Analyst will be primarily responsible for managing regulatory / external audit activity, including but not limited to audit deliverable coordination, on - site audit coordination and management, and mock audit activities.  Regulatory audits include those from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Office of Inspector General, General Accountability Office, State Departments of Insurance, and other regulators responsible for oversight. 
 
This role requires collaboration with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, therefore candidates should demonstrate skillful communication, flexibility, and conflict resolution skills.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Work independently and lead a project team
Act as the gatekeeper for regulatory audits
Analyze, understand and articulate regulatory and contractual requirements and apply identified requirements to business operations when supporting regulatory / external audits
Coordinate all aspects of regulatory audits (i.e., pre - site deliverables, mock audits, on - site visits and logistics, written responses to audit reports)
Document, retain, report and clearly articulate audit - related information (i.e., scope, findings, recommendations, corrective action plans, and status) and documentation to Compliance and business operations leadership
Manage multiple audits and collaborate across multiple business segments
Work with various internal groups to gather needed information for regulatory audits
Educate Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial business partners on Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial requirements as needed
Manage, track and reporting of regulatory audits, internal and regulatory corrective action plans, fines and penalties
Conduct regulatory research
Escalate identified risks throughout audit process
Coordinate with Legal Counsel as needed
Perform additional duties as requested or required by management
Travel as necessary

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or relevant experience
4+ years of experience in compliance, privacy and / or regulatory affairs or with supporting audits in a highly regulated industry; preferably a government, health care or managed care environment
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Superior oral, written communication and interpersonal skills required
Strong presentation skills
Intermediate (or better) level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness to travel as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid or Commercial benefits & regulations
