Shipfitter - Full-time / Part-time

Now Hiring Shipfitters in San Diego's Shipyard! Please see job description below and email me a copy of your udpated resume if interested. Applications without a resume will not be considered. These are open ended contract to hire opportunities paying up to $25/hr (based on experience).

The individual MUST have experience in the Shipyard with at least 4-5 years experience as a Shipfitter.

Individual must have experience assembling, cutting, grinding metal structural parts to include plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles, come-alongs.

Aligns parts in relation to each other.

Tacks and Welds foundation and structural members.

Performs layout work according to blueprints or reference lines.

Marks location of holes to be drilled, drives wedges and installs temporary fasteners to hold parts in place for welding and riveting.

Ability to work at heights and in confined areas and access and move around ship safely

PPE: hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses.

Fit for duty evaluation required

Need to wear a respirator and have respirator clearance
