Sr Accountant

PrideStaff Financial is seeking a Sr Accountant for a local client here in Modesto! The Sr Accountant will help review financial statements, create accounting reports, compare budget to actual, and look for areas of improvement within the company.

Responsibilities for Sr Accountant:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and grower accounting
• Provides the proper accounting systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Provides metrics and reports to management pertaining to the financial health and condition of the company
• Trains and develops accounting department personnel to grow in their areas of areas of responsibility and provide cross training to ensure proper coverage of accounting tasks when staff absence requires
• Ensures accuracy of general ledger reports such as the income statement and balance sheet
• Identify current and future areas of need within the accounting department and implement the appropriate measure to fill the need
• Work with other departments and vendors to implement best practice accounting procedures
• Implement cost accounting methods to track costs for different programs

Qualifications for Sr Accountant:

• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Bachelor’s Degree In Accounting
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• 5+ years of experience in similar role

Compensation for Sr Accountants is typically based on experience and skill set in the range of $60-75k.
