Position – Sales / Estimating Associate
Pay - $17 to $22 Hourly
Location – Based in Hershey, Pa
Type – Temporary thru beginning of year.


SUMMARY:
The positon of Sales/Estimating Associate is responsible for business development and estimating efforts including, but not limited to, supporting and achieving sales goals, attending construction pre-bid meetings, proposal preparation, prospecting, cold calling, client relationship management, and preparing complete and accurate estimates for municipal pumping and construction projects. This position is an integral part of the business development team in a fast paced, high energy, construction and engineering environment. This position reports to the Senior Vice President.

Education/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related Degree Program Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction sales or technical sales;
• Estimating or quoting experience;
• Demonstrated sales aptitude.
• Must have a passion for what you do, a strong drive to achieve results, the ability to solve problems creatively, and a dedication to client service and relationship management.
• Working knowledge of excel spreadsheets and able to construct financial models for build-up of proposal costs.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness working with others in a team environment.
• Demonstrative analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to balance priorities and exhibit organizational skills to manage both individual and multiple team priorities.
• Excellent MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel regularly, including periodic overnight travel.
• Valid driver’s license.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proposal Preparation Administration:
• Manage the proposal process from receipt to issuance.
• Attend on-site pre-bid meetings/proposal conferences and site visits.
• Prepare detailed accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc. estimates.
• Utilize the appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.
• Prepare and maintain professional client proposal packages.
• Thorough reading and interpretation of client proposal requirements, follow up with questions in a timely manner.
• Confer with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing to ensure completion of proposal requirements.
• Utilize, modify and create cost models for build-up of sales prices.
• Show creativity and resourcefulness in pricing models to ensure costs are minimized.
• Maintain tracking sheet of proposals submitted and report tracking to management weekly.
• Develop competitive, creative proposals that have the greatest chance of winning.
• Submit proposals on the deadline – 100% of the time.
• Proposal – follow up & closing
• Consistently follow up with Executive Management, Managing Directors and Clients on submitted proposals to ensure receipt of the award.
• Build Relationships
• Build long term, win-win relationships with Managing Directors, Operating Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure fluid understanding of all aspects of the business operations.
• Develop professional relationships with clients as a respected member of the Business Development team.
• Business Development
• Assists in managing strategic marketing campaigns to obtain new business and maintain current client business.
• Contributes to the total effectiveness of the business development department, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
• Assists in developing and implementing strategic sales plan.Facilitate client requirements meetings, both in person and/or remotely using current online presentation applications.
• Develop marketing analysis to identify customer needs and price schedules.
• Stay current with client needs, competition and industry trends.
• Evaluate accounts.
• Maintain active participation and membership in networking organizations.
• Hands on involvement in a variety of marketing logistics, including event production, trade show coordination, collateral coordination and premium ordering.
