POSITION PURPOSE -

In this position, the Manager will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction and analysis to the functional management team. The Manager will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and work closely with the finance leadership, in order to achieve business goals and create shareholder value.

In this position, the Manager will be expected to manage people and processes related to financial and operational reporting and analysis that aligns with the Company’s strategy.  Manages a team in order to drive projects to completion, adhering to defined deadlines.  Works cross-functionally with key business areas (e.g., Operations, Finance, IT, etc.), serving as a liaison between key business customers and the reporting and analytics team.  Ability to work with large data sets, leveraging SQL, SAS, etc., to define and provide visibility to key performance indicators (KPIs) through recurring reports, scorecards and dashboards ensuring high data quality.  Defines key success metrics and analytical approaches for initiative pilots and actively measures results through test vs. control analyses and dashboarding.  Aids in high profile analytical projects to identify material financial opportunities by leveraging statistical based, predictive analytics.  Conducts adhoc analyses that yield value generating, action oriented insights to key business partners.  Leverages effective communication skills to translate complex data into understandable insights, frequently meeting with business leaders in a presentation setting.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving - Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives.
  • Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
  • Conduct financial planning for function and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.
  • Drive key functional financial metrics.
  • Project Management- Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage.
  • Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations, and Information Systems.

    NATURE AND SCOPE -
  • Typically reports to a Director level
  • This position has no direct reports.

    ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
    Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable


    EDUCATION REQUIRED -
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor' s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Five to eight  years of experience in Finance is preferred.
  • A Bachelor' s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Five to eight  years of experience in Business Intelligence is preferred
  • Experience in SQL, SAS, Tableau, R  and similar tools preferred

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
