Product Sales & Guest Services Supervisor (Various Locations)

The Product Sales & Guest Services Supervisor is a part of the Product Sales & Service Department.  This position is responsible for satisfying and exceeding guest expectations by delivering outstanding guest experiences through resort and product knowledge.  The Product Sales & Service Department is a high-volume department with a large amount of guest service interaction.

This position is located at any of the following locations:

  • Tickets & Season Pass Office
  • Ski and Snowboard School Sales
  • Northstar Sports - Village Rental location

 

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  1. Deliver exceptional guest service to internal and external guests
  2. Develop an in-depth knowledge of all resort product offerings and sales modules. Troubleshoot product issues and follow up with the appropriate staff or guest in a timely manner
  3. Provide accurate resort, village, and local information to the guest 
  4. Display accurate cash handling skills, perform and oversee the daily sales and close procedures while following company and departmental policies and procedures
  5. Communicate in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner to all internal and external guests
  6. Understand and adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures
  7. Assist in the resolution of all guest complaints within company guidelines; handle all guest concerns and suggestions; ability to determine when you can handle an issue, and when it needs to brought to the attention of others, i.e. Department Manager, PSS Director, etc.
  8. Willingness to be part of a cohesive management team working with multiple departments
  9. Assist in the hiring, training, supervising, and guiding of staff to achieve specific goals and objectives.
  10. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  11. Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for PSS staff, i.e. encouraging questions from staff, acting as a behavioral role model for staff, being a source of support and information, etc.
  12. Ability to address employee issues in a timely, professional manner; documenting issue and/or referring to others, if necessary
  13. Establish personal strengths and areas of focus through self-assessment and on-going training and feedback from the Northstar Management Team; participate in all departmental and resort training and development courses
  14. Actively work in all areas of Product Sales and Service and/or in any areas of the Northstar Resort
  15. Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills; must be able to use proper English and grammar in speech and writing at all times
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate team spirit
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must enjoy working with people
  • Ability to learn and speak intelligently about ALL of the resort products offered
  • Ability to pass a background check; a background check may be required for employment in the Kids' Ski & Snowboard School location

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous extensive guest service experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Windows, i.e. Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook
  • Prior experience with Resort POS software preferred; preferably 2-3 winter seasons working with the following RPOS modules:  Access Products, Advanced Sales, Pass/Media Sales, Private Lessons, Ski School Tools (for inventory pool management), Reports, etc.
  • Prior cash handling experience preferred
