POSITION PURPOSE

This position prepares economic and financial analyses and forecasts for use in the development of financial business decisions. Critical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions; ability to understand and foresee implications of new information for current and future problems solving.  An unquenchable intellectual curiosity for getting at the underlying story being told within the data. 

Strong written and verbal communications skills.  Ability to persuade, inform, and influence others based on findings.  A track record of taking complex results and communicating them in an easily understood way.  Superior interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate actively and work in a team environment.  Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and techniques.  Serve as a team leader and mentor for financial analysts on the reporting team

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee the administration of financial policies.
  • Conducts special financial studies and coordinates with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies.
  • Performs internal and external economic research and analyzes issues related to specific financial metrics to ensure competitiveness
  • Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.
  • Recommends changes in financial analysis methods or procedures.
  • Assists and supervises Financial Analysts in the daily preparation and conduct their work.



NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This position typically reports to a Manager of Finance.
  • This position may supervise one or more Financial Analysts.
  • Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.
  • Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.
  • Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems.
  • Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area.
  • Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.


YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field is preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in data mining, statistical analysis, auditing/forecasting preferred.
  • Knowledge in SQL Server, Teradata, or comparable databases is preferred.
