At Grandview Senior Living, our Assisted Living Director (ALD) is responsible for the overall health and safety of the residents. The ALD will enforce community policy, adhere to all California Health and Safety Codes and Title 22, and will coordinate the functions of the Assisted Living Department. The Assisted Living Director is responsible for staffing, managing the department budget, achieving goals and providing training for team members in the Assisted Living Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:
  • Assure that the residents and their families are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Selection and retention of high quality staff, schedule staff to effectively balance the workload and provide adequate coverage to meet Sunrise standards.
  • Hold in-service training programs and coordinate mentoring programs.
  • Manage the income and expense expectations within the departmental budget.
  • Assess residents' care on a regular basis, review resident care and service plans or as needed, and follow-up accordingly to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Contact physicians and families of residents regarding any change of condition. Review new physician's reports and update as needed.
  • Oversee the medication program including: communicate with physician, pharmacy and family members, supervise distribution of medication and maintain current medication records.
  • Investigate all resident 's issues and concerns; taking appropriate and correct action. Ensure appropriate reporting of incidents as required by Sunrise policies, State Health and Safety and Title 22.
  • Support sales efforts to maintain high occupancy. Assess all prospective residents prior to move-in to determine their level of care, and complete a care plan prior to move-in.
  • Work various shifts for team support and quality assurance and training.
Qualifications:
  • A California LVN license in good standing is required for this position
  • Prior management experience, preferably in assisted living or long term care
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to regularly work weekends as well as some evenings, and be on-call to cover emergencies
  • BA/BS degree or applicable experience
  • Demonstrated good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new applications
  • Effective organization, time management, and written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments
  • Scheduling experience is a definite asset
