Customer Service Representative
Construction Industry
Customer Service Representative is needed for a small-mid size growing company in the construction industry. This is a contract position to cover a 3 month leave with a potential to go permanent based on performance. Pay is $16-18/hour based on experience
Duties include service customers from the construction industry, heavy order processing (at least 50/day), handling phone calls (around 100/day) and emails, tracking freight. Seeking a candidate ideally with some experience /knowledge of the construction industry, can work in a fast paced environment, multi-task and prioritize orders. Casual working environment with a working schedule of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities of Customer Service Representative:
- Always be cordial with customers on the phone, if they ask a question that you do not know the answer too than please take their information and ask Regional Sales Manager or VP of Sales for help and then get back to customer with answer asap.
- Keep a log of each customer call, try to get as much information as possible to keep in notebook or call log
- If a new customer calls or a large inquiry comes in, please pass information to Regional Sales Manager or VP of Sales for follow up
- Return all messages or Emails within 30 minutes (except during lunch hour)
- Any order that is received and is in stock should be shipped out the same day – all others next day
- All orders should be entered in computer system as soon as P.O. comes in via fax or email (to avoid selling same product to different customers)
Skills and Experience needed for Customer Service Representative:
- At least high school diploma/ GED
- At least 4 years of previous Customer Service B2B experience.
- Attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- MS Outlook, Word, and some Excel. Previous CRM experience.
- Experience from the construction industry is strongly preferred.
