Job Summary
As a Telephone Sales Representative you will be responsible for selling goods and / or services over the telephone.
Telephone Sales Representative duties may include:
- Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services, to persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service, make a donation or take otherwise desired action.
- Contact businesses or private individuals by telephone to solicit sales for goods or services, to request donations for charitable causes and/or to collect information.
- Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.
- Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into computers.
- Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted.
- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Actively looking for ways to help people.
- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
