JOB SUMMARY:


Expands the company’s use of data to strategically-further the company’s goals and objectives. Strategically designs, develops, and implements information, data, and analytics architectures, roadmaps, and best practices that produces business outcomes. Strong focus on defining the data management, operational reporting, dashboards, and analytics environment that will enable more efficient and effective decision making.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
Required:
  • Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years relevant work designing and implementing normalized and dimensional data models to satisfy complex information needs
  • 6+ years relevant work with Enterprise Information Management approaches including data migration, transformation and integration strategies

Preferred:
  • Experience authoring IT standards, frameworks and patterns related to the management of Data
  • Expertise with one or more of the following environments and tools such as Hadoop, Tableau, Couchbase, Cassandra, Microstrategy, Cognos, Informatica
  • Experience with Big Data, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Visualization, Data retention strategies, ETL, OLAP for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience in the deployment of Analytic platforms in Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and On-Prem environments
  • Experience in the design and tuning of high user concurrency and large data volume analytical platforms.
  • Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Enterprise Planning & Execution
  • Development of Enterprise Information, Data, and Business Intelligence Target State Architecture and Roadmaps
  • Understand and evaluate current and emerging technology products and trends.
  • Develop re-usable design patterns and best practices that can be leveraged by the enterprise.
  • Socialize and educate the organization including service providers on design patterns that have been developed.

Solution Architecture
  • Develop conceptual, and logical data models, data flow diagrams, and reporting and analytics architecture diagrams to support projects.
  • Oversee and consult with project teams to ensure adherence to data and business intelligence design patterns and best practices.

Cross-Training, Technology Research, and Proof-of-Concepts

Defining the future state Data and Analytics Landscape
Managing the Day-To-Day Data Architecture
  • Develops long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assesses and determines governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing data across the organization.
  • Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall data management roadmap.
  • Conducts data capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.

Developing and Maintaining Requirements and Standards
  • Develops and promotes data management methodologies and standards.

  • Defines requirements for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement in collaboration with the Service Providers.
  • Defines requirements to promote the success of enterprise-level application rollouts (e.g. ERP, SCM, CRM, SAP, etc.).
  • Defines requirements to address data-related problems in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.
  • Defines requirements to develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of data architecture.
  • Defines requirements to create strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving.
  • Documents the data architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture.
  • Defines requirements to verify that data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance.
