Primary Responsibilities: Design, implement and maintain .Net application within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processesCommunicate effectively with other engineers and QAEstablish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as neededIdentify production and non-production application issuesIdentify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of .Net developed projectsProvide technical support and consultation for .Net application and infrastructure questionsServe as a mentor to less experienced DevelopersPrimary
contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and
supporting all types of applications consistent with established
specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.
Identify and design most efficient and cost effective solution through
research and evaluation of alternativesParticipate
in Design reviews, Test Case reviews, and Production Support readiness
reviews for new releases, provide inputs for Go/No Go decisionProvides
team leadership in areas of specific technical knowledge that is
frequently sought out by others with significant experience in a single,
complex development environment or across multiple platformsAssist Service Manager and Service Director in providing management status reports on daily, weekly and monthly basisEnsure that all documentation has been updated and that work product meets UDP / SOX compliance requirementsConduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action planAssist in Providing estimates on break/fix, and problem-management activitiesIdentify application performance improvement initiatives and implement the same in consultation with the Service ManagerIndependent
communication with business partners to resolve issues and negotiate
project related items such as priorities and completion deadlinesDocument suggestions for continuous process improvements for both OM and development activitiesProvide timely updates on tasks to reporting supervisorAdherence to the defined delivery process/guidelines (SLA Compliance etc)Adherence to the defined OM delivery process/guidelines (SLA Compliance etc)

Requirements

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years experience in the IT Industry 2+ years of experience with Big data Hadoop, HIVE, HIVE QL 2+ years of experience in full Software Development Life Cycle 2+ years of experience batch processing or similar Willing to take On-call responsibilities 24x7x365Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SQL Experience with Tivoli Workload Scheduler or similar Experience with UNIX and shell scripting Experienced in handling a team size of 5 - 10 membersSoft Skills: Developing and maintaining standards, common processes and best practices Outstanding communication and presentation skills working across multiple geographies, business functions and teamsTechnology Careers with Optum.
