The Associate Director Business Analyst will be responsible for working with operations and product leaders to understand staff and program performance, and develop metrics that influence and improve the Neonatal Resource Services and Optum Fertility Solutions Program.
 
Neonatal Resource Services is a program dedicated to providing inpatient and post discharge support for families with sick infants through both utilization management and case management. This is accomplished by leveraging the expertise of NICU specialized nurses, social workers and physicians in monitoring the infant’s plan of care, collaborate with providers to promote continuity of care, efficiency & best practices, advocate for and educate the infant’s caregivers.  Optum Fertility Solutions Program offers reproductive education and guidance along with access to infertility treatment through Centers of Excellence.  Through early member engagement with our specialty trained Infertility nurses, members are provided support in navigating through a complex health care system with the goal to achieve pregnancy sooner with superior outcomes. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Read, research, trend, forecast, benchmark, and understand data and its insights

Manage ongoing relationship with operational and product suite partners as point representative for operational metrics, program lifecycle, and overall program status

Communicate and monitor key success metrics

Research available data to identify opportunities to improve operational excellence and work with process owners to mobilize actions and resources to address identified gaps

Deliver formal program updates to leadership which includes creation of reporting dashboards for routine business reviews which you will conduct

Provide end - to - end process expertise and solution orientation to operations and product partners

Drive process improvement striving for consistency, timeliness, accuracy and effectiveness

Monitor performance and quantify financial impact of program pilots or operational changes

Perform cost benefit or business analysis to evaluate the feasibility or success of initiatives

Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and / or senior level professional staff 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in health care analytics
3+ years of experience working with large data sets
Intermediate level proficiency with SQL, SAS and / or other statistical programs
Intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
Experience communicating and presenting information, in both written and verbal formats, to all levels of the organization including senior level leadership 
Preferred Qualifications:

Analytical thinker (can synthesize and understand data / information, with ability to speak to concepts both broadly and narrowly, as needed),
Ability to effectively and efficiently identify and solve problems
Ability to collaborate with peers and leaders on enterprise - level topics in a multi - faceted organization
