LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)

Location: South Orange, NJ

Description: Maxim Healthcare is currently looking for a Behavioral Therapist who will assist service recipients to attain the goals of the individual care plan, sustain positive behavioral changes and improvement in functionality and quality of life.

Responsibilities
Demonstration of all outcomes for service recipients supported: Identity, Autonomy, Affiliation, Attainment, Safeguards, Rights along with Health and Wellness

In accordance with applicable Individual Care Plans, any Behavior Assistance/Intensive In-Community evaluations, and other reports made by the Behavioral Therapist, provide interventions including, but not limited to:
Clinical consultation/assessment
Counseling - Group, individual, or family therapy
Stress reduction techniques
Symptom reduction
Psycho-educational instruction related to mental health, improved decision-making to manage behavior and reduce risk behaviors
Referral to other necessary services and supports
Maintain flexibility in clinical modalities and apply according to clients needs and abilities. Use of play, art, music techniques can be provided if indicated.
Listen to and respond to the needs of service recipients, parents/guardians, area program staff, and agency management.
Transport service recipients as needed and clinically indicated.
Advocate for service recipients in all situations, abide by all agency policies and procedures, and perform job duties in accordance with agency mission and values.

We are currently looking for Per Diem employees.

Qualifications
Bachelor or Master Degree in a related field; social work, psychology, counseling, etc.
Must be licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Behavioral Therapist or within appropriate field.
Must be 21 years of age or older
No history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults.
1 year of documented Behavioral Therapist experience with children and families with mental health needs.
Reliable transportation
Valid drivers license, insurance and acceptable driving record is highly preferred
Criminal background and other pre-hire requirements.
