The Director of Support Services is responsible for oversight of the training and development, quality assurance, special projects and compliance departments in support of our core mission.

Principal duties and accountabilities:
  • Develop, maintain and implement superior training programs.
  • Manage the metrics program for key performance indicators.
  • Institute a comprehensive quality assurance program including but not limited to site inspections, full audits of job sites and divisional departments, and penetration testing.
  • Develop improvement plans for accounts in jeopardy.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with industry associations and law enforcement in DC, Virginia and Maryland.
  • Conduct special security surveys, reviews, and inspections as directed or otherwise identified. Submit comprehensive reports in an objective, timely, and thorough manner. These reports must be able to stand on their own merit and provide the user clear, concise, and accurate data upon which to make responsible decisions regarding the specific situation.
  • Develop post orders, policy and plans in coordination with the operations team and clients.
  • Develop and implement, in coordination with the Vice President a communications and awareness program for clients and employees to ensure they are aware of the company's goals, mission, vision, and quality assurance initiatives. The communications program will include a monthly newsletter and periodic emails to clients and employees to keep them abreast pertinent matters.
  • Research new industry trends and technology.
  • Perform periodic updates to the security procedural manual (Post Orders).
  • Must be a team player and responsive to the operational needs, goals, and objectives of the company. Attend meetings and undertake other ad hoc assignments as determined necessary to meet goals and objectives.
  • Conduct investigations, complete detail investigative reports and provide recommendations for avoidance of future incidents.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours outside of the normal working hours to facilitate and meet the goals/objectives of the organization. May be required to travel to other offices outside of the Metro DC area to provide support.


Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following background requirements:
  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in security management, supervisory rank in law enforcement, or senior NCO or Officer Rank in the military.
  • Possess or obtain with 90 days of hire the following:
    • Virginia Department of Criminal Justice General Topics Instructor Certification.
    • Certification as DC MPD General Topics and Firearms Instructor.
    • Maryland State Police Firearms Instructor Certification.
    • ASHI or American Red Cross CPR/AED Instructor Certification.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills; possess the ability to conceptualize and identify problems, analyze problems, and provide clear and concise solutions, both verbally and in writing; be self-motivated and possess a strong initiative and follow through ability.
  • Experience can be substituted for educational requirements.


Education

Successful candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in security, criminal justice, or related field. ASIS International Board Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) is a plus.
