Position Summary:

Plumbing Tradesman for the Louisville Division. Responsible for plumbing modifications, installations and repairs for maintenance, major and minor projects. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others

Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform mechanical\plumbing modifications and repairs for maintenance, major and minor projects. Assist the Supervisor Mechanical\Plumbing Tradesmen as required in the completion of his duties.
  • Acquire and maintain a Master Plumbers and/or HVAC License for the States of Kentucky, and Indiana.
  • Evaluate store mechanical\plumbing equipment and assist the Maintenance Engineer and store mechanic in determining the best way to provide maintenance service.
  • Provide complete service on all plumbing fixtures and water heaters in a store as required.
  • Assist in determining what parts the maintenance department should stock in order to perform timely and complete repairs and preventative maintenance to all store mechanical\plumbing equipment. Specifically, this should be completed at the end of each project. But, the Maintenance Engineer may request assistance at any time.
  • Determine what parts and tools the WIW Tradesmen should stock on the project and at the shop in order to perform timely and complete remodels. Maintain parts and tools in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Clean and maintain company service vehicle, if one is assigned.
  • Train other tradesmen, mechanics, engineers, store personnel and/or technicians in the repair and proper use of selected mechanical\plumbing equipment as required.
  • Properly communicate with Facility Engineering staff, store management, other tradesmen, material suppliers and servicemen through both written and verbal techniques.
  • Maintain effective communications with store personnel in order to reduce maintenance cost, especially as it relates to equipment abuse, repeat calls, overtime, and incomplete understanding of the equipment.
  • Properly complete all repair, labor, material and equipment purchasing documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in plumbing repair or installation
