Overview:

The Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for advanced inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Repairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses, and other equipment
  • Prepares maintenance schedules for equipment, vehicles, and facilities
  • Performs advanced repairs on: turbine pumps, electrical motors and panels, centrifugal pumps, and chemical feed systems
  • Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs including wiring single/three phase motors
  • Completes all work order paperwork
  • Maintains vehicle inventory
  • Prepares pipe and fabricated supports
  • Operates a crane and forklift
  • Performs maintenance requiring metal cutting (oxygen/acetylene) such as welding, brazing, and soldering
  • Cleans shop area as assigned
  • Conducts routine equipment maintenance tests
  • Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions
  • Knowledge of stand practice in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems 
  • Previous water or wastewater treatment experience is desirable
  • Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on call

 

Qualifications:
  •  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and 5-8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)

Water and or Wastewater license or must be able to obtain within two years.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds
  • Able to climb ladders and stairways
  • Able to pass fit-test for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
  • Must be able to access confined spaces
