A nursing leadership opportunity is presently available for an RN Director Womens and Childrens Services in Southern Virginia. This centralized location is at the heart of a desirable suburban community with proximity to larger cities, higher education and is rich in outdoor recreational opportunities.

The Nurse Director Obstetric Services will join a 100+ bed hospital, featuring a 24-Hour Emergency Room, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Services, Sleep Center, Intensive Care Unit and Women’s Center. The hospital is a top regional top employer and provides care to patients within a several county radius. Supported by a health system network, this hospital is financially stable and has recently made significant investments in increasing service lines to the community.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse Director will lead a department that delivers nearly 400 children annually and includes modern private patient suites and free breastfeeding education for patients. The RN Women Children Services Director will lead a team of Nurses and Nurse Leaders within Labor and Delivery, Post Partum and Women’s Services providing clinical and administrative departmental leadership. A highly skilled staff of nurses and administrators provide relationship-based care in a comforting environment for mothers and their newborns.

The Women Children’s Services Nursing Director reports directly to the Women’s and Children’s Services RN Vice President and will work directly with the VP to develop, submit and maintain an annual department budget. The Nursing Director Labor Delivery is responsible for the development of both long and short-range department goals, implementation of plans, regulatory compliance, Joint Commission preparedness and quality improvement measures.
