Primary Responsibilities:

Mentor and develop our elite team of consulting Actuaries
Oversee the development of Actuarial pricing models
Develop pricing methodologies and assumptions
Develop the competitive analysis and determine their impact on premiums and various product proposals
Assist clients with rate filing, risk adjustment estimation, and other regulatory compliance activities
Assist clients with strategic responses to potential post - ACA repeal environments
Oversee project teams on client assignments
Analyze forecasts and trends
Calculate reserves
Design and implement new products
Manage and develop new and existing client relationships
Develop proposals, organize, and manage consulting teams around new and recurring client opportunities
Assist with the development of Optum thought - leadership and  intellectual capital around emerging practice areas or other industry changes and challenges

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
ASA or FSA designation
10+ years of Actuarial experience
Open to travelling up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior consulting experience including project management and business development
Experience working in the health care industry with Healthcare Payer experience
Demonstrated thought - leadership in the health care industry via participation in volunteer organizations, published articles, and other avenues
