Engineering Technician

Position Description:

This position is responsible designing, conducting and reporting of various mechanical and electromechanical tests. In position you will assist with development and validation of various manufacturing processes. Often, this individual will serve as a subject matter expert in their chosen area and mentor more junior level technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

• Design of various electromechanical and mechanical experiments and tests. * Write test plans and engineering reports * Ensure laboratory compliance with company, state and national regulatory requirements such as OSHA. * Mange calibration of laboratory equipment * Interface with other engineering disciplines as it relates to product development and testing * Troubleshooting and failure analysis of various products and components * Build and test samples and prototypes * Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions

Basic Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma
• 7 years of work experience
• 2+ years of experience designing, conducting & reporting various mechanical and electromechanical tests
  

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of DOE * Experience in R&D environment * Basic machine shop knowledge * Labview and PLC programming
• Good organization skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience with MS Office applications, written and verbal communications and problem solving.
