Description

The Flock Advisor will make on site flock visits to evaluate flock placement, development, nutrition and environmental conditions for all assigned farms while acting a liaison between Producers and Perdue Farms, Inc.

The responsibilities/duties listed below may not be a complete list of all essential Functions of the position.

Responsibilities

  1. The ability to travel as far as 1200 miles per week and walk throughout poultry facilities up to 500' long to monitor house conditions such as but not limited to: ventilation, litter conditions, bird health, water and feed availability, etc.
  2. Communicate findings and recommendations and request to producers and management as well as other departments, such as feed mill, hatchery, and Live Haul to ensure that growing programs and company policies are being adhered to.
  3. The ability to monitor chick placements, weight, flock movement, mortality and feed inventories along with the ability to deliver supplies that weighs up to 60 lbs.
  4. The ability to assess bird health, administer field vaccinations, prescribe medications and perform necropsy on birds to identify diseases and relay findings to management.
  5. To deliver and communicate with producers their flock performances, payment and action plan on current and future flocks. While documenting such reports i.e., 2-week moralities, flock records, visitations, morality records, etc. and submit to management.
  6. Update and perform training progress for new hires, working with management to coordinate seasonal training programs. Perform presentations on seasonal programs for associates and act as a leader/adviser to supervisors in matters concerning communication, policies troubleshooting and general poultry husbandry.
  7. Adhere to all requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.


Required Qualifications

Strong reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills. High school graduate. Valid state drivers license (Class C).

Preferred Qualifications

Strong reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Four-year degree in AG related field is preferred. Valid state drivers license (Class C).
