Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning and procurement of materials, equipment, stamping dies and supplies for this Columbus, Ohio Tier 1 Honda Supplier.
Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all materials, services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
Assist in specifications and quotation preparation, purchasing, expediting, quote analysis and invoice auditing for materials, supply items, equipment and parts.
Optimize all purchasing activities including scheduling, on-time delivery, cost reduction, inventory control, and materials/supply management.
Strong grasp of both purchasing and materials, including understanding of ERP and financial implications. Experience with metal stamping or robotic welding processes a plus.
Manage activities which monitor accurate material inventories, track progress of production and review factors that affect schedules

Requirements
We are looking for a highly energetic and motivated Purchasing Coordinator with excellent management, communication and inter-personal skills, driven by a strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of a growing team.
• Minimum Associate Degree in purchasing, production management or related field preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing/materials responsibilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to interact with persons at all levels within the organization, including hourly associates on production floor.
• Results driven individual accountable for all requirements and goals. Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
• Strong problem solving ability while researching the root causes of problems relating to purchasing responsibilities.
• Requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, negotiating skills and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated proficiency using PC and Microsoft Office software.
• Willingness to travel, occasionally overnight.
