This role will be joining an experienced team looking to update / upgrade an existing portal on a new platform.  Our portal supports over 2.5 million consumers and 100 thousand employers and growing.  Primary responsibilities will be ruby development, with UI development in HTML5 and CSS3. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Hands on development
Advising application architecture
Work in the DevOps space
Leading junior developers as the team grows in the process
Involvement in professional associations, open source development and other skill building activities
Collaborate with others to develop high - quality, test - driven, responsive consumer applications
Develop and test for cross - browser compatibility
Provide technical guidance during planning
 

Required Qualifications:

Experience with Ruby, JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5
Experience with DevOps tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker)
Experience with software development principles designed for iterative development based on customer feedback such as Lean Startup, Agile, Kanban
Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Test - Driven Development
Experience working in a startup environment
Experience with mobile development (iOS, Android)
Experience with the system development life cycle
Expertise in performance and scalability optimization
Handle smaller projects independently, coordinating with other teams and third-party methods / tools as needed
Ability to quickly learn new tools and technology
