About this job

Duties include:

Update District databases including Oracle and the Access based District database on all staff local union, and company changes; prepare labels and mailings as needed
Update Delinquent Dues, Rapid Response and other databases as needed in District
Process contracts and signature pages, and submit requests for strike authorizations for the District
Assist in maintaining vouchers and processing of casuals
Draft correspondence when necessary
Assist staff with airline and hotel reservations when requested
Maintain files for contracts, grievances, etc.
Order supplies for office and call for repairs on office equipment as well as maintain equipment as needed
Maintain any District or other education scholarship program for staff including application processing, maintaining database and completing mailings
Answer phones
Open and distribute mail
Provide assistance to staff when needed including, but not limited to, 3rd step grievance and arbitration appeals, requesting and pulling arbitration panels, assisting with events and activities
Other duties as assigned

Skills needed

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
Knowledge in Oracle Applications
Excellent organizational and proofreading skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information
Ability to prioritize time sensitive responsibilities
Knowledge of basic office equipment (copier, fax, postage machine)
Must be able to multi-task
